The assembled structures have a 10-year life cycle and are fully recyclable.

DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION and ASSEMBLY
DETAILS OF COMPONENTS: The side walls, top, floor and door shall be assembled of patented extruded aluminum components. Assembly techniques shall require little or no welding. All components shall be easily repaired with common hand tools.
SIDE WALLS: The sidewalls shall be constructed from multiple hollow extruded aluminum members (see Figure 1). Each hollow member shall have integrally formed details that, when press fit together, interlock and form a permanent mechanical joint. Each adjoining hollow member shall be further secured together by riveting through an outside surface of one hollow member to an internal
rib of the adjoining hollow member. This internal rib shall be located within the permanent mechanical joint. Each mechanical joint shall have two minimum rivets. The assembled sidewall panel shall be 0.875 inches thick. The upper edge of the sidewall panels shall include an extruded aluminum; “U” channel 1.0 inch wide, effectively covering the open hollow members or these open hollow ends will be covered by extrusions which form the 90 degree edge of the container which join the side, bottom and top panel components into a rigid configuration.
LID, FLOOR / PALLET AND RUNNER: The lid, floor/pallet shall use the same hollow members as described in the SIDE WALLS paragraph. Basic method of assembly shall be the same as described in the SIDE WALLS
paragraph. The entry configuration will include anti-tip components, and the entire pallet/floor component will be reinforced to accommodate required cargo loads.
FASTENERS: All components shall be assembled and secured with common rivets. Size of fasteners and rivets will vary according to configuration and structural requirements. structural requirements.
TIE DOWN RINGS: The Storage / Transport Container have tie down rings that are recessed into a heavy duty dish which will be riveted to the side panels.
MATERIALS
The Storage / Transport Container shall be constructed from the patented interlocking extruded aluminum elements in accordance with 6063-T5.with 6063-T5.
WEATHER SEAL GASKET/DOOR GASKET/OTHER GASKETING: An elastmeric
gasket shall be installed on all mating surfaces and seams where requirements dictate.
PAINT OPTION Olive Drab FED-SPEC 595, or to Specified Specifications.
TEST METHODS Testing was conducted by 1) Naval Surface Warfare Center – Carderock Division, NSW – 92/L021, NSW-92/L022 Nov. 1992. 2) HQ, AFMC/LGTPM, Air Force Packaging Evaluation Activity, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. Air Force Report #93-R-02/ AFPEA Project # 92-P-101.
